“ I was finally able to eat at Mitch'd again. I have been gone for 3 years. Mitch's Seafood is the absolute BEST in SD. My boys ages 6 years old- 1 year old love the food as well. Everything is fresh and there service is always great. Love this restaurant . ”
“ Oh to dine al fresco and by the water, what a lovely day to find two unused stools and put them together for my cohort and I. If you're in the mood for oysters- get em! High salinity but the horseradish is so delish. On the suggestion by Freddy I opted for a Wahoo sandwich; which is one of the "fish of the day" options along with yellowtail, tuna, and kingklip (which I have never even heard of but the interwebs describes as mild, flaky and sweet so I will next time! The claw on the side was the least over-dressed slaw I've ever had but I'm happy about that because I ate it all. The pinot grigio was a nice light accompaniment. My cohort said the fish & chips was the best she ever had and I tasted her margarita which was good too. Definitely glad we got there right before the dinner rush and look forward to coming back. ”
“ Tiny little shop on the little boardwalk. There was a huge line on Saturday night. The wait was 45 minutes to get to the counter and then about another 30 minutes to get your food. I'm not entirely sure it was worth it. They ran out of the seafood stew and poke appetizer. The clam chowder was pretty good. Not out of this world but it was good. The seafood platter was a bit less than exciting for the wait. The calamari was ok. The crab cake was ok. None of it was super hot. The fried shrimp was amazing though!!! That was the best thing on the platter. And we got a separate octopus dish which was amazing. Loved that! There is very limited seating there but it seems to rotate out at a decent rate so you should be able to sit there if you want! For the wait time, not worth the food but it wasn't bad. ”
“ The view is nice outside, but be careful sitting on the bar seating outside with the water view. There was a lot of fallen sauce bottles and table numbers in the water. The food does come out quickly and it was pretty good, but did taste pretty oily. It doesn't reheat well and there was so much oil that came out of the leftovers after heating in the oven. The service was alright. The pricing for seafood is fair and i would still recommend trying at least once. ”
“ I just got in town and needed something for lunch while my hotel room was being prepared. I took a short walk over and found a wonderful spot to sit outside and enjoy some fresh seafood. I had the shrimp and crab seafood Louie salad. The seafood was extremely fresh and flavorful. All vegetables, crisp and cold and the Louie dressing was insanely delicious. This is a order at the counter set up. The person taking my order was very kind and helpful with my selections. Perfect stop for lunch. ”
“ One of my Favorite spots, it's so beautiful on the water you can see the boats as you are right on the docs. The food is so fresh. They have different seafood option everyday. The crabcakes were the best I ever had so creamy and taste amazing. The staff is so friendly, they were extremely busy when we were there and gave us a free taco for our wait time. The clam Chowder was full Of clams and tasted amazing. Lots of local draft beers and wine as well. Also less than a 4 hour drive from the San Diego airport so a perfect spot to bring visitors before dropping them off. ”
“ I went against Seafood Vacation Best Practices by going to Mitch's three times while not making it to some places on my list, but it's a great spot that happened to be convenient to my motel. I walked in vowing to diversify beyond spiny lobster but I made the Solomon-esque decision to get just a half-order (an option I've never seen elsewhere and is helpful from a $$ perspective). The star of this seasonal offering is in the Crustacean Cuisine Hall of Fame, but the sides are great also. The yellowtail taco was excellent. Not only did I enjoy the rockfish sandwich but in a deus ex machina of sorts I was delighted to see a picture describing the many kinds of rockfish. I didn't memorize the specifics but the key point was that "rockfish" doesn't mean striped bass which is called "rockfish" on the East Coast at times. I was glad the crab cocktail was available during breakfast hours. And I'm not here for beverages but not everyday that one gets to enjoy black currant iced tea. ”
“ The food was amazing! My boyfriend and I dined here for Valentine's Day, and we will definitely be back. I have a tree nut allergy so I called ahead to ask about allergens on their menu. The man who called me back assured me that only one menu item has nuts (grilled octopus has almonds in sauce), and that it is stored separately. I felt so safe eating here! We ordered the fish and chips and the mixed seafood platter, and both were delicious! They had malt vinegar on the table which is my favorite with fries. We almost ate outside because the view is incredible, but it was a little chilly so we opted to eat inside. I need to note that someone next to us ordered the tuna melt and it looked amazing so we will be ordering it next time we dine! ”
“ Had dinner here on a Monday evening, got there around 5 & they were already pretty busy. Interior is small, not a lot of seating. It was cool weather, so we had hoped to nab an indoor table but never could. You read the menu board, order at the counter & they bring your food out when it's ready. We sat on stools facing the marina. We all had grilled fish, which came with coleslaw & the 3 of us shared an order of fries & a salad (garden?). I had rockfish, one of us had the swordfish & one had the tuna. The grilled fish were all FANTASTIC, so good!! They each had a sauce spread on the side of the plate, maybe an olive oil, garlic & parsley, kind of a chimichurri, really wonderful with the fish. We all enjoyed our food very much & sharing a couple sides worked well. I'd go back today and get the rockfish again! Beer on tap, some wines available--lovely dinner. ”
